Renault Dokker is a front-wheel drive representative of the "LAV" class (Leisure Activity Vehicle) ... This is a utility vehicle, which perfectly coexists with all the advantages of "family compact vans" and "delivery vans" ...

The official premiere of the five-door (under the Dacia brand) took place in May 2012 at the international exhibition in Casablanca, and next month it went on sale in some world markets.

In January 2017, the car underwent a small update, and it was limited only to visual transformations - the exterior and interior were corrected for the "Frenchman", leaving the technical part without metamorphosis ... well, towards the end of the same year, he entered the Russian market.

Outside, Renault Dokker makes a good impression - it is perceived as a real "strong man" with a raised nose, on which frowned headlights flaunt, a trapezoidal radiator grille with an impressive diamond emblem and a neat bumper. With all its utility, in profile the compact MPV looks quite dynamic, and this is facilitated by the window sill lifted to the stern. Well, the sheer rear with vertical lanterns, double doors and a simple bumper harmoniously completes the look of the five-door.

The Docker is 4363 mm long, its width reaches 1751 mm, and its height does not exceed 1852 mm. The vehicle has a center-to-center distance of 2810 mm, and its ground clearance is 153 mm.

In "combat" form, the single-volume tank weighs from 1152 to 1205 kg, depending on the modification.

Inside the Renault Dokker, you shouldn't look for design delights, but overall the interior looks fresh and attractive. An unpretentious driver's seat is crowned with a three-spoke steering wheel of optimal dimensions and a laconic instrument cluster, and an ergonomic center console flaunts a 7-inch screen of the infotainment system and three "washers" of the climate complex.

In the cabin of the compact van, frankly simple finishing materials are used, but it has no significant problems with the build quality.

In the front seats of the Docker there are comfortable chairs with unobtrusive sidewalls and sufficient intervals for adjustments, and in the rear there is a three-seater sofa that can accommodate three adult riders (there is plenty of free space in all directions).

In standard condition, the car's cargo space is 800 liters, and with the second row of seats removed, it increases to an impressive 3,000 liters.

Access to the trunk is carried out by means of swing doors of different sizes, opening 180 degrees. The Frenchman has a full-size spare wheel under the bottom.

Specifications. Renault Dokker offers four engines to choose from, which are mated to 5- or 6-speed manual gearboxes and front-wheel drive transmissions:

  • The petrol range combines two petrol four-cylinder units with distributed fuel injection:
    • The 1.6-liter 8-valve "aspirated" generates 85 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 134 Nm of torque at 2800 rpm;
    • a 1.2-liter turbo engine with 16-valve timing produces 115 hp. at 4500 rpm and 190 Nm of peak thrust at 2000 rpm.
  • The diesel range includes 1.5-liter "fours" with turbocharging, common rail fuel injection and 8 valves, developing 75-90 horsepower at 4000 rpm and 180-200 Nm of available output at 1750 rpm.

Depending on the modification, "Docker" accelerates to a maximum of 160-179 km / h, and rushes to conquer the second "hundred" after 10.6-14.5 seconds.

Gasoline cars “digest” 6.2-7.5 liters of fuel in combined conditions, while diesel ones cost 4.5 liters.

At the heart of the Renault Dokker is a front-wheel drive platform called "M0" with a transversely located power unit. On the front axle of the car, an independent suspension of the McPherson type is used, and on the rear there is a semi-independent system with an elastic H-shaped beam (in both cases, with anti-roll bars).

The compact van is equipped with a rack and pinion steering mechanism with an "implanted" hydraulic control amplifier. At the front, the five-door has ventilated disc brakes, and at the rear - drum devices (in the "state" - with ABS and EBD).

Options and prices. In the Russian market, Renault Dokker 2017-2018 is offered with two engines (gasoline "aspirated" and turbodiesel) in three equipment options - "Access", "Life" and "Drive".

  • The minimum price for a car is 819,000 rubles, and its functionality includes: two front airbags, 15-inch steel wheels, power steering, ABS, steel crankcase, heated rear window, daytime running lights and some other equipment ...
