In 2001, the third incarnation of the subcompact hatchback SEAT Ibiza saw the light - the car changed beyond recognition, both in terms of design and technical part.

In 2006, the Spaniards updated their "brainchild" - they revised the exterior design for it, thoroughly shook up the interior and underwent a small revision of the equipment. The release of the car was completed in 2008 in connection with the release of the assignee.

The third generation SEAT Ibiza is a three- or five-door hatchback of the subcompact class, which has the following body dimensions: length - 3977 mm, width - 1697 mm, height - 1441 mm. In the arsenal of the car there are 2460 mm wheelbase and 130 mm clearance under the "belly". The "marching" weight of the "Spaniard" is from 1010 to 1190 kg, depending on the modification.

"Ibiza" of the third generation demonstrated a huge variety of power plants:

  • The petrol versions of the car were equipped with in-line three- and four-cylinder units (both atmospheric and supercharged) with a volume of 1.2-2.0 liters with distributed injection, delivering 54-150 horsepower and 106-220 Nm of peak potential.
  • Diesel versions could boast of turbocharged "triplets" and "fours" for 1.4-1.9 liters, having 70-130 "heads" and 155-310 Nm of torque in their arsenal.

The list of transmissions includes 5 or 6-speed "mechanics" and a 4-speed "automatic" (no alternative front drive).

The third "release" SEAT Ibiza is built on the front-wheel-drive architecture of the "Volkswagen Group A04" (aka PQ24), which implies the transverse orientation of the engine and the presence of a carrier-type body. The car uses an independent chassis based on MacPherson struts at the front and a semi-independent structure with a torsion beam at the rear.
On the front wheels of the hatch, ventilated discs of the brake system are used, and on the rear wheels - drum devices or "pancakes", depending on the version (plus ABS). The steering on the "Spaniard" is rack and pinion with an electrohydraulic booster.

"Ibiza" of the third generation "flaunts" a pleasant appearance, ergonomic interior, reliable design, perfected handling, balanced chassis, low fuel consumption, throttle engines and much more.
The negative qualities of the car include: poor sound insulation, stiff suspension, low ground clearance and a cramped interior.
